Ularitide (Urodilatin) a cGMP-activator from the group of natriuretic peptides with a highly specific action profile, acts as a vasodilator and diuretic. The peptide Urodilatin was discovered by our research group and was found to be an effective and well tolerated substance in numerous studies for diverse indications, particularly acute heart failure. Ularitide is also suitable for other indications, e.g. renal insufficiency, pulmonary hypertension and acute bronchoconstriction with asthma. Cardiopep Pharma GmbH has successfully completed Phase 2 for treatment of acute heart failure with Ularitide. This is a highly attractive therapeutic approach of great economic and medical significance for the treatment of decompensated heart failure.
